Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 requires all federal agencies to provide software and website accessibiltiy to students with disabilities including public institutions K-12 and higher education.

Develop documents that allow all students with disabilities to access with technology. Steps to creating accesible documents may include:

​

1. Using clear visuals.

2. Supplement all multimedia with transcripts.

3. Use Navigation that is keyboard friendly.

4. Provide forms and files in multiple formats including .doc, PDF etc.

5. Be consistent with use of clear, clean fonts and backgrounds.

6. Avoid colored text.

7. Provide hyperlinks.
